Prayer for the Sick
Lord, Our God, You sent Your Son into the world to bear our infirmities and to endure our
sufferings.  For my friends, Your servants who are sick, I ask that Your blessing will give them
strength to overcome their weakness through the power of patience and the comfort of hope
and that with Your aid they will soon be restored to health.  We ask this through Christ Our
Lord.  Amen.
Prayer for those in the Military
Lord God, Almighty Father, Creator of mankind and Author of peace, as we are ever mindful of
the cost paid for the liberty we possess, we ask you to bless the members of our armed forces.
Give them courage, hope and strength. May they ever experience Your firm support, gentle
love and compassionate healing. Be their power and protector, leading them from darkness to
light. To You be all glory, honor and praise, now and forever. Amen.
Prayer for the Ones who Encounter Surgery
Loving Father, I entrust myself to Your care this day; guide with wisdom and skill the minds and
hands of the medical people who minister in Your Name, and grant that every cause of illness
be removed, that I may be restored to soundness of health and learn to live in more perfect
harmony with You and with those around me. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Prayer for the Deceased
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, give to Your servants departed the full
remission of all their sins, that they may obtain the pardon they have always desired, You, who
live and reign forever and ever.  Amen.  Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual
light shine upon them. Amen.
Prayers for Those Grieving
Lord, at the moment nothing seems to be able to help with the loss I feel. My heart is broken,
and my spirit mourns. All I know is that Your grace is sufficient. This day, this hour, moment by
moment, I choose to lean on You. For when I am at my weakest, Your strength is strongest. I
pour out my grief to You and praise You that, on one glorious day, when all suffering is
extinguished, and love has conquered, we shall walk together again. Amen.
